At Risk Teenage Book Club
In partnership with Adelphoi Village the Westmoreland Diversity Coalition is co-sponsoring a Book Club for at risk young people in residence in controlled and supervised group homes. The book club is designed to help improve the quality of life for these young people whose lives are institutionally structured.
They will read books for discussion but also enjoy other events such as field trips to the Westmoreland Museum, learn different life skills such as etiquette and use what they’ve learned at dinner at a restaurant; watch a movie; have hair cutting and make up sessions and earn stipends to be added to their accounts for their personal use later. Members of the community will participate in the activities.
